Moxibustion Therapy

Clinical_09.jpg

Moxibustion is a traditional East Asian therapy that uses gentle heat to restore balance and support the body’s natural functions. It involves burning dried mugwort (moxa) near specific points to improve circulation, strengthen the body, and enhance overall vitality.

Rooted in classical theory, it’s based on the idea that warmth is essential for healthy function. When the body becomes cold or depleted—due to stress, illness, or fatigue—processes may slow. Moxibustion introduces therapeutic heat to encourage movement, nourishment, and resilience.

Treatment is gentle and controlled, often using a moxa stick held above the skin or applied alongside acupuncture needles. It’s commonly used for pain, digestive issues, fatigue, menstrual discomfort, and immune support, especially during colder months.

Each session is personalized based on the individual’s needs. The experience is typically calming and grounding, helping the body relax and regulate. Used alone or with acupuncture, moxibustion supports circulation and the body’s natural ability to heal through steady, warming care.
